Month of October - Horror Genre
click on the web link, read The Death Car and The Hitch hiker and answer the attached questions. This will count as a quiz grade.
Assignment for Oct. 22, 2007
1. Click on the web link for the Acrostic Builder. Use this tool to write an acrostic poem on the "Tell Tale Heart". When it is complete bring it to me and I will print it.
2. Go to our blog page. Read the prompt on the Tell Tale Heart. Open a word document and type your response using your best writing. Log in and publish your writing on the page. *** There is a copy of The Tell Tale Heart Text attached to this page if you need to reread the story. If you do not finish this is for homework.
Assignment for Oct. 26, 2007
1. click on the story "Bloody Mary". You may read it or click on the part that says it will be read to you. If it is read to you then you must listen using headphones. After you have read the story click on the Bloody Mary questions sheet and answer the questions. Save this as a word document and then you will down load it to my drop box later.
2. After your questions are answered and you REALLY understand the story, open the "circle plot builder" and make a circle plot that summarizes the story. Don't close this page but minimize it and then go to the blog page and write a SUMMARY of the story in your own words. Make sure you tell the beginning, middle and ending details of the story. Tell ONLY the main idea of the story and the suppporting IMPORTANT details that we need to know.

November Genre- Historical Fiction- The Devil's Arithmetic
We will be reading this account of a young girl's struggle to understand herself, her family and the horrors of a german concentration camp. Attached are some of the review questions as well as vocabulary that students will need to know.
